My son used to often say, “You be you!” I believe at the end of our days we will not have to answer for anyone else’s calling but our own. Of course the Lord will use us to influence others. We must look beyond ourselves to help others. But each of us must fulfill our own calling. I must be true to who the Lord has made me to be and I must do the specific things He asks me to do.
The same is true for you – you must be you!
Throughout the Bible we read stories about all different types of people the Lord mightily used. He called them from right where they were – in a sheep pen like David, from a small town like Mary, hiding out in a wine press like Gideon or on a road to destruction like Saul.
Where are you today? Listen in to the Lord’s voice calling you. He is ready to use what He has put in your hands. Are you wearing the shoes that are the best fit for you or are you trying to go through life in someone else’s shoes?
