When the going gets tough our tendency is to take things into our own hands. When trouble seems to be chasing us down, let’s remember the Lord is a safe place we can run to. He desires to save us from the enemy of our souls but we must choose to run to Him. Because we live in Oklahoma, which is known for its tornadoes, we have a shelter to go to when the warning sirens go off. When the storms of life come, we too have a shelter to take refuge in.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer, my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior.
2 Samuel 22:2-3
When life seems unfair, when times are turbulent, when things are confusing, when you cannot find your way, when conflict arises, when boredom sets in or when fear tries to take over – run to the Lord. He is a sure foundation! Storms will come, but when your trust is in Jesus, you can make it through. The winds may howl, the rain may pelt, the sirens may drone on, but you are safe when you take refuge in the Lord.
Take a few minutes to listen to some encouragement from God’s Word. I am cheering you on!
